Rabble” is the twelfth episode of season one of Generator Rex and the twelfth of the overall series. It debuted on October 1, 2010.

Overview[]

When investigating crimes in Hong Kong, Rex bumps into old friends of his from the past. Except they're the ones committing the crimes.

Plot[]

While in Hong Kong, China, with Agent Six, Rex discovers that a member of the three EVO criminals, named Tuck, knew him despite Rex not being able to remember the EVO. Rex, in an attempt to learn more about the gang, suggests that Providence should pause for a moment and let him go undercover. White Knight admires the tactic and tells Rex that a mob boss named Quarry is behind these robberies. He orders him to infiltrate the three criminals gang to gain their trust in a bigger plan to get close to Quarry. Meanwhile, Rex has his own plans.

112-Rex reunited with gang

Rex is reunited with his friends.

After a brief friendly interaction, Tuck introduces Rex to his two friends, Skwydd and Cricket. It is also revealed that the past Rex had created a voice activated nano ink, exclusive for the gang. Rex is unable to remember being a leader of their gang because of his amnesia, which Tuck mentioned he suffered from frequently. They are able to prove it to him by showing a picture of them together. Rex also discovers that they all are being forced to work for a crime lord named Quarry.

After spending some time with them like the old days, Rex and the gang return to their hideout. As they got closer, the water tower explodes and catches fire. Rex finally confronts Quarry, and tries to reason. Unfortunately, Quarry reveals that it was actually Rex himself who had traded the three to Quarry for money, who reveals the information on a diary kept on a PDA. This causes Tuck, Skwydd, and Cricket to feel betrayed, and they turn on Rex as a result. After that night, a frustrated Rex considers taking down Quarry along with his friends, for Providence, as he thinks he doesn't really know them. But a change of heart occurs when he takes a second look at the picture tuck gave him before.

Suffering from a guilt trip, Rex goes to shut down Quarry's ring, causing a fight to break out. The gang is shocked to see Rex destroy the PDA when Quarry bribes him. Seeing him stand up for them like a leader, they help him in taking down Quarry. Soon, Quarry and his EVO servants are arrested by Providence. White knight asks about the three pawns in their plan, to which Rex lies to White Knight that Tuck, Skwydd, and Cricket had gotten away. Rex tells them that Providence won't come after them as long as they don't give them a good reason to, and departs, well reunited with them again.

112-Rex's journal

Rex is given a journal by Six.

Back at Providence, Rex informs Holiday and Six of the possibility of him having memory blackouts. Dr. Holiday theorizes that the blackouts are most likely triggered by extreme emotional trauma during specific events. Agent Six consoles him and gives Rex a journal with a pen to record anything that he does on forward, to deal against the future memory blackouts.
