Purgatory is one of Providence's bases.[1]
History[]
Purgatory is a backup facility located on a dry deserted island in the South Pacific.[1] Its purpose is to be a place where Rex can extract and store excess nanites or even revive his nanite power.
After Paradise was destroyed by Weaver, Purgatory became the primary base for Rex's nanite offloads.[2]

- Both Paradise and Purgatory refer to Biblical locations.
- Both Paradise and Purgatory are located in areas completely devoid of life in order to prevent the nanites from re-entering living creatures.
- In the episode "Enemies Mine", it is shown that Rex has another base where he offloads nanites, likely a replacement for Purgatory which remained under the control of Providence.
