“Badlands” is the fourth episode[1] of season two of Generator Rex and the 24th of the overall series[2]. It debuted on December 3, 2010.
Overview[]
While transporting unstable nanites, Rex, Noah and Bobo get separated from the Providence convoy. Meanwhile, Agent Six and the others in the convoy become the targets of a gang of anarchists seeking to steal the unstable nanites.
Plot[]
Rex, Bobo, and Noah are separated from a Providence supply convoy while transporting toilet paper on a beaten down old truck. Meanwhile, a group of anarchists and their cyborg leader, Gatlocke, are planning on hijacking the Providence convoy, which contains unstable nanites which can go off if it goes above sea level or is handled roughly.
Gatlocke successfully hijacks the convoy, only to discover that their cargo is toilet paper—meaning Rex's truck is what is really carrying the nanites. Gatlocke successfully locates Rex and a short brawl ensues.

The group encounters Gatlocke.
Rex is able to escape and hijack one of Gatlocke's ATVs by threatening to set off the nanites. Using the vehicle's radio, Noah and Bobo are able to call for help while Rex holds off Gatlocke, which ends when Gatlocke gets tossed into a canyon and crawls out moments later.
Agent Six reveals that when he said the nanites would go off, he meant they would turn off, rendering whatever purpose Providence had for them useless. Nonetheless, he is grateful that Rex, Noah, and Bobo kept the nanites from getting into Gatlocke's hands. Shortly afterward, Gatlocke is captured by Providence and dragged off to jail, stating that he and Rex should hang out sometime. The episode ends with Rex, Noah, and Bobo choosing to get lost in the desert again in the ice cream truck.
